Millions of cars in Las Vegas detected by Flock cameras as company announces safeguards

“A company whose license plate reader cameras are used by police departments nationwide says it will add new safeguards to its technology next year amid growing privacy concerns and allegations of misuse. Las Vegas police have 211 Flock Safety license plate reader cameras installed throughout the Valley. The cameras were introduced to Las Vegas in 2019, and concerns have grown since then about how the technology is used and what it means for privacy.
