Personal

Just as fun have been the many personal trips and vacations that I’ve enjoyed. These have included flight for vacations to the Cayman Islands, Aruba, Jamaica (Montego Bay, Negril, Ochi Rios, Falmouth), US Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Buenos Aires Argentina, Havana Cuba, Mexico (Mexico City, Teotihuacán, Tijuana, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Akumal, Playa del Carmen, Tulum. Cozumel, Chichen Itza), and others.

Pet and house sitting is also a great way economical way to travel for extended periods at a very low cost. All you need to do is get there and then you can enjoy living like a local. Besides a 3 week stay in Tampa Florida, I also had an interesting to stay for three weeks in an ocean side home in Salinas Ecuador that included a pool and jacuzzi. At the time, the 2.5 hour bus ride from Guayaquil cost less than $15. However, the $80 return trip via taxi was necessitated due to a nationwide transportation strike that was undertaken by night to avoid roadblocks with burning tires. . The locals and expats were freaked out with talk of a coup, but travel was actually safe.

Road Trips

When traveling by car in the US, you can take short day trips, weekenders and long haul treks. As a life long resident of Green Bay WI, I have gone from my home base north to Sault Ste. Marie Canada: east to Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach; south to St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Miami, Cocoa Beach, New Orleans, Memphis; west to Boise ID, Manzanita Oregon, San Diego, San Francisco, and so many more.
