What’s Really Hiding on Las Vegas Bike Trails Taken Over by Homeless Camps

“Use the link below to get your ebike today! https://lectricebikes.com/?utm_source=influencer&utm_campaign=justknate&utm_term=lectric A Las Vegas bike trail has been closed due to homeless encampments, so I grabbed my electric bike, loaded my backpack with cold water, socks, hats, food, and dog supplies, and set out to see what was really happening along the trail. What started as a bike ride quickly turned into two days of homeless outreach throughout Las Vegas. I traveled beneath bridges, entered the washes, explored tunnels, and met people living in places most people would never know existed. Along the way, I handed out burgers, breakfast burritos, fried chicken, cold water, socks, hats, dog food, and collapsible dog bowls. I also learned more about why portions of the Las Vegas bike trail were being shut down, heard about shootings in the area, met a woman who had been shot, and arrived during a medical emergency after a woman suffered a seizure. Temperatures reached 105 degrees, making cold water and food extremely important for the people and animals living outside. Every time I thought I had brought enough supplies, I found more people who needed help. This video shows the reality of homelessness in Las Vegas beyond the Strip, including homeless encampments under bridges, people living inside tunnels and drainage washes, and the difficult question of where everyone is supposed to go when these areas are closed.
