Metro task force targets rise in youth gangs across Las Vegas valley

“Las Vegas Metro police are tracking a growing number of children getting pulled into gang activity across the valley. Sgt. Jasper Washington with the Juvenile Gang Task Force said there are more youth committing crime, with many tied to gangs. “We’ve seen there was a big gap with a lot of youth committing a lot of crimes, a lot of, you know, violent felonies and all that stuff,” Washington said. “So that’s where we were trying to intercede, and say, what can we do to provide the intervention for them to kind of deter them from going down like gang life, and kind of helping them out as much as possible.” MORE: _______________ Never miss an upload from News 3 Las Vegas!
