Latest data shows continuing slump for Las Vegas tourism

“Las Vegas visitors are still coming for big celebrations and bucket-list entertainment, but many are feeling the sting of higher costs on the Las Vegas Strip even as hotel occupancy and airport passenger counts slide. Cici Tubis, visiting for a BTS concert and a vacation, said, “We came here for a concert and a little vacation but it is expensive.” Ashton Tweedle, in town for a 21st birthday, said the trip “went a bit above the budget.” While both said they are enjoying their trips and want to return, they also described needing more time before making another visit. Tweedle said, “I would be down to come back at the end of the year. Like in a year. But it would probably be smarter to take five years or something.” Tubis said, “I just came spontaneously. I said ‘whatever’.
