Las Vegas renters warned of hidden lease fees that can make AC repairs costly

“Losing air conditioning during the summer heat can be miserable for renters — and the cost of fixing it isn’t always as straightforward as many tenants assume. Local attorneys say “junk” fees and unclear lease language can leave renters on the hook for unexpected costs, prompting Nevada lawmakers to pass a new law aimed at making lease terms clearer. During the last legislative session, state lawmakers approved two housing-related bills. One of them, AB 121, is described as a “landlord communication law” intended to make sure tenants know how much they will owe each month and what additional fees they might be responsible for.
