Las Vegas markets cut staff, hours after SNAP benefit changes

“Small grocery markets on Las Vegas’s Eastside and Westside say they are struggling to stay open following changes to federal SNAP benefits that took effect earlier this year, with some owners reporting layoffs and reduced store hours. Mario Berlanga, owner of Mario’s Westside Market, said sales are down 30% compared to last year.”
