LAS VEGAS HIT BY FLASH FLOODS! Halloween Storm Brings Torrential Rain

“Las Vegas, Nevada, faces flash-flood threats after torrential Halloween rainfall triggered multiple warnings across Clark County on October 31, 2026. Heavy thunderstorms, lightning and wind gusts exceeding 40 mph brought dangerous weather to the Las Vegas Valley. The National Weather Service issued two Flash Flood Warnings covering central and northwestern Clark County, including Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Centennial Hills, Lone Mountain and Aliante. Rainfall estimates reached 0.5 to 1 inch in the central Clark County warning area, while northwestern Clark County recorded an estimated 0.25 to 0.5 inches. The flooding emergency follows multiple swift-water rescues across Clark County on October 30. Emergency reports documented incidents in Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. More than 5 inches of flowing water was reported across a section of Racetrack Road near Henderson. Flooding also forced road closures near Lake Mead National Recreation Area after debris and large rocks covered roadways. One person involved in a Henderson rescue operation later died in hospital, according to Associated Press reporting. Meanwhile, additional heavy rainfall was forecast across parts of the southwestern United States through November 1, raising concerns about further flash flooding in already saturated areas.
