Las Vegas gas hits $5 a gallon, bus riders talk saving money as drivers struggle

“As gas prices climb across Nevada and hit $5 a gallon in Las Vegas, some residents say they are turning to public transit to cut costs in an expensive economy. AAA reported the average price for regular gas in Nevada is $4.96, up 2 cents from the day before. Las Vegas has officially reached $5 a gallon. At the RTC’s Bonneville Transit Center in downtown Las Vegas, bus riders said high prices at the pump are influencing how they get around.
