Las Vegas A’s Stadium RISING — But What’s Happening to Bally’s? Boyd Gaming Rumors | Ep. 81
“LAS VEGAS A’S STADIUM CONSTRUCTION UPDATE — EPISODE 81 | AUGUST 24, 2026 ⚾🏗️ The Las Vegas Athletics ballpark is getting VERY real. Today we’re back at the former Tropicana site on the Las Vegas Strip, where the massive roof arches are now transforming the skyline and crews continue pushing forward on the $2 BILLION A’s stadium. But Episode 81 has a much bigger story developing around the ballpark: What happens to the rest of the Tropicana property? Bally’s has disclosed serious liquidity concerns while simultaneously trying to complete its $1.7 billion Chicago casino development and pursue other major projects. That immediately raises questions about the huge Las Vegas resort development Bally’s previously envisioned around the A’s stadium — including hotel towers, casino space, restaurants, entertainment and a 2,500-seat theater. The latest plans appear to put much more emphasis on the infrastructure the stadium actually needs: parking, pedestrian access, podium structures and surface parking. That does NOT mean the theater, casino or hotels have officially been canceled. But it increasingly looks like the ballpark could arrive LONG before the enormous resort complex originally shown in the renderings. And there’s another twist… Boyd Gaming has reportedly emerged as the mystery bidder interested in Bally’s rights at the Tropicana property. Nothing has officially been announced between Boyd and Bally’s, but if that report proves correct, it could dramatically change who ultimately develops the land surrounding the new Athletics stadium. Meanwhile, there is very little mystery about the BALLPARK itself. The second huge steel truss arch has now been completed, the stadium structure continues rising rapidly, and project officials say construction remains on schedule for the 2028 MLB season. So Episode 81 really comes down to two completely different stories: ⚾ THE A’S STADIUM: Going vertical and looking increasingly real. 🏨 THE DEVELOPMENT AROUND IT: Parking first? Bally’s later? Boyd Gaming? A scaled-down project? Or eventually another massive Strip resort? We take you right to the construction site and show you exactly what is happening today. Let us know what YOU think: Would you rather see the entire Bally’s hotel/casino/theater development built around the stadium — or would more parking actually make the ballpark better? And if you think we should do a livestream about all of this, we can host an open discussion panel to talk through the Bally’s, Boyd Gaming and stadium development questions. Mention it in the comments if you’d be interested!
