Inside Park MGM: Is This the Most Underrated Hotel in Vegas?

“Park MGM is a modern, upscale mid-range hotel and casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip, known as the Strip’s only fully smoke-free casino property. Location and Access It sits at 3770 S Las Vegas Boulevard (west side of the Strip), between New York-New York to the south and Aria/CityCenter to the north. It is directly adjacent to The Park, an outdoor dining and entertainment promenade that leads to T-Mobile Arena. Guests can reach nearby MGM properties (Aria, Vdara, Bellagio, and The Shops at Crystals) via the free Aria Express tram, which has its southern terminus here. History The property opened on June 21, 1996, as the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino (designed with Belle Époque/Monaco influences). After a major renovation costing over $550 million, it was rebranded as Park MGM on May 9, 2018. It became fully smoke-free when it reopened on September 30, 2020, during the pandemic recovery. The property is owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International. Hotel and Rooms Park MGM has roughly 2,700 rooms and suites in a 32-story tower, with standard rooms around 406 square feet. They feature a modern European/residential style with thoughtful touches like alcove beds, good lighting, desks, and curated art. The top four floors form The Reserve at Park MGM (formerly NoMad Las Vegas; rebranded in December 2025), a 293-room boutique hotel-within-a-hotel. It has its own lobby, more refined European-inspired design (oak floors, custom furnishings, freestanding tubs in many suites), a private Terrace Pool, and a smaller casino area. Total rooms across both are about 2,993. Casino The casino floor is approximately 77,000 square feet (reports vary slightly) and is entirely smoke-free (with limited designated outdoor smoking areas). It offers slots, video poker, table games (blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, etc.), and a BetMGM Sportsbook & Bar. The atmosphere is calmer and better-lit than many larger Strip casinos. Dining Highlights include: Eataly** — a large Italian marketplace with multiple counters, restaurants, shops, and seating (a major draw). Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar** — French-influenced steakhouse. Best Friend** — Korean BBQ by chef Roy Choi. Primrose** — garden-party-style brunch and dining. The Library** and other bars/lounges. Guests also have easy access to restaurants in The Park (e.g., Beerhaus, Crack Shack). Entertainment and Amenities Dolby Live** (formerly Park Theater) — a ~5,200-seat venue for concerts and residencies (artists such as Mary J. Blige and others have performed here). Proximity to T-Mobile Arena for major events. Three pools with cabanas, a spa and salon, a 24-hour fitness center, and substantial meeting/convention space (~77,000+ sq ft). Bars and nightlife options include Juniper Cocktail Lounge and On The Record. The overall vibe is more elegant, understated, and boutique-like than many flashy Strip resorts, with a nature-inspired art program (including a prominent tree-like sculpture in the lobby). It appeals especially to smoke-sensitive guests, concert-goers, couples, and those seeking a slightly quieter but still central Strip experience.
