“Neighbors are still trying to come to terms with the shooting that killed Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer Austin Abdelnabi, saying an otherwise quiet neighborhood was transformed by flashing lights, blocked roads and heartbreaking news. The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon during rush hour near Hacienda Avenue and Mountain Vista Street. Donald Brown, who has lived in the neighborhood for about 10 years, said he immediately noticed an unusually large police presence when he arrived home.
