Walt Disney World - American Airlines Savings

Recently announced by American Airlines is a deal to the Walt Disney World Resort that includes hotel savings for up to 50% when you book a three day vacation including air, hotel and Disney tickets. Also part of the deal is the transportation package that includes airport transfers and luggage delivery. This add-on is fast becoming a wonderful treat for enjoying a kid friendly trip that relieves a common hassle for traveling parents.

The savings on the Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort from is about $215 from Chicago and $348 from Dallas. Additionally there are savings for the Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge stays.

Northwest Airlines - WorldPerks Miles Special Offer

Want to get away to Singapore for only $548? If you’ve got 20,000 NW perk miles you can take advantage of their special offer. You could also choose travel to Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka or Taipei.

The rules are that tickets must be purchased no later than October 12, 2008, you need an advance purchase of 14 days, outbound travel is allowed between September 3 and December 13, 2008, all travel must be completed by December 18, 2008, travel must begin and end in the US 48 states but its valid for up to four passengers per reservation.

If you’ve only got 10,000 miles your price would be $658. Not bad!

Airport - New Laptop Security Rules - Checkpoint Friendly Bags

Going through airport security with a laptop should be a little easier with the Transportation Security Administration’s new ‘checkpoint friendly’ rules. The TSA x-ray screeners are supposed to know what the insides of a laptop look like and can see any ‘irregularities’. The new see through x-ray friendly bags will let you keep your laptop inside its protective covering.

When manufactures come out with the bags they will have a ‘laptop-only section’ that will allow the computer sections and to ‘lay flat’ on the belt as it goes through the x-ray. If the bag doesn’t give the screener a clear look at the inside of the machine, or if it looks ‘funny’ it will be screened manually.

To get through security without a hassle you’ll need to keep everything out of the ‘laptop-only section’. You’ll especially have to careful to keep any ‘metal snaps, zippers or buckles’ away from that area.

The TSA even gives a basic diagram of what is allowed.
Now let’s hope they change the rules to prevent ‘snooping’ inside the computer itself.

Delta - Weekly Web Fare Specials

You will want to check Delta’s weekly web fare specials for a deal like San Diego to Salt Lake City for only $59 each way. Go check out the religion or rock music. There’s more to Salt Lake than just the Mormons. It did host the 2002 Winter Olympics you know.

And don’t forget to preview the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) website for carry on restrictions. Keep the lines moving, OK?

If you’ve got someone meeting you there, the airport has 30 minute free parking in the short-term parking structure plus a ‘park & wait’ lot. Save on a hotel and stay with friends. Just reciprocate the favor later.

Anyway, Delta has one way fares from $59 to $1,149 that can save you lots of money. This current fare must be bought by tomorrow so go now.
